A voluptuously smooth, full-bodied Italian red with dried cherry and raisin aromas over a rich and concentrated palate.
This exquisite Amarone is created for us by specialist Carlo Speri. The grapes are partially dried through a process called appassimento which concentrates the grape flavours. Maturation takes place for two years in old Slavonian oak barrels to soften and develop its wonderful complexity. He wine was minimally treated so may form a harmless sediment. Careful decanting will enhance enjoyment of the wine and avoid this sediment in the glass.

Yes, I recommend this
This Amarone justifies the price. It is on another level compared to most I've tried. The alcohol kick and full bodied depth are managed by what is obviously a brilliantly aged wine made with superb fruit.

Amarone della Valpolicella Villalta
Extremely disappointed with this wine. The first bottle we opened was undergoing a secondary fermentation in the bottle and lacked any semblance to an Amarone wine. We opened a second bottle before writing this review just in case the first was atypical. This second bottle did not have any secondary fermentation but tasted astringent with none of the smoothness of an Amarone wine. Buy at your peril.

A little young , fine bouquet , excellent unaccompanied great to share with friends. Under priced but not speri. Will be laying down a crate for 3 years and topping the drinking rack regularly . You won't be disappointed.
