The Autumn Trends You Need to Know

Excited for autumn? So are we. It's a time for new beginnings: to reset, rethink and most importantly, give your wardrobe an overhaul for the coming season. Your first stop should be choosing one key item to bring you gently into line. Material and texture is key (diving into knitwear can seem a little premature on balmy early autumn days), so choose something that still lets you have a foot in both seasons.
We're loving this butter-soft faux leather skirt. Stride out of your comfort zone away from the safety of black: chocolate brown feels more luxe right now. Wear now with a sleeveless faux leather top or camisole and then layer up as the mercury starts to drop: think Autograph silk shirts or a cashmere jumper.
Supersize your accessories
This season's accessories are for the maximalists: the bigger the better is the key message. So, say farewell to bags that you can barely get your phone and keys into and embrace the style (and dare we say it, practicality) of the giant bag. Our woven tote is just what you need for new-season adventures and will take you from work to weekend plans with ease. Wear with contrasting colours so it becomes a feature of your outfit rather than a side note.
Team with another key piece for autumn: the roll neck sweater. The wardrobe stalwart is stepping firmly into the limelight this season. Perfect for layering and adding a touch of quiet luxury, it'll become your new go-to: choose bold shades or chunkier textures to make it really stand out.
The new suit
After the past few years of relaxed leisurewear and remote working, a move towards a more structured way of dressing was always on the cards. So workwear might be back on the agenda, but it's boldly reimagined for the post-pandemic era.
Embrace the season's new power dressing with a pop of deep teal in sumptuous velvet. Get the season started with the suit jacket and matching trousers for a high-impact look that's perfect for special occasions. Or style with a T-shirt for a more casual way to wear, grounding with sophisticated pumps and minimalist jewellery to keep the look on-point.
Good tradition
Heritage fabrics with a weekend-in-the-country feel are also firmly on our radar. Think tweed, herringbone and classic knitwear patterns such as the iconic diamond-shaped Argyle. Mix and match to create a chic, layered look with an eclectic feel, choosing a similar colour palette to achieve harmony. Style with a bold collegiate-style scarf as a final flourish.
A footnote: animal print rears its head again this season but rather than a standalone trend, think of it as a neutral that goes with everything. Our advice? Invest in a pair of leopard-print kitten heels and wear on repeat.
