Half Moon Floor Light

I purchased this floor lamp online. The image used of the lamp shows the lamp with a pull cord near the light shade however, this cord does not exist! I did read another person's review stating the pull cord was missing and that she had been advised by M&S the picture would be changed so when I saw the pull cord was still there in the picture I expected it to be there. When I unpacked the item it needed some assembly which was not too difficult. However, when I stood the lamp up it was listing to one side. On further inspection this was due to the base being wonky and nothing to do with how it had been assembled. As I did not want to go to the time and trouble of sending the lamp back so near to Christmas I decided to keep it but I am disappointed and would not recommend.

Could be easier to assemble with better instructions e.g. rubber washers were to protect threads not to be a styling feature. Floor switch should be nearer to base whereas our selected site makes it near the socket up from the floor. guidance re bulb (another trip to the shops! as not included) should be given to beware bulb height and thus clearance to shade top. Thus said the lamp looks first class As stem is prewired you need help really to connect up heavy base with top section Easy enough when done once-dint be put off, it looks super in our refurbished kitchen. Packaging must have costs almost as much as the item and needed a trip to the tip as it would have filled the bin!

This lovely half moon floor light is stylish and elegant. The size of bulb it takes is able to give out ample light to be able to put it onto a timer and use as a security light. We are pleased with its size and simple design which looks so modern in our living room. We now want to change other items in our home to chrome to match, for example our curtain tracks and ceiling lights.

Arrived well packaged. Easy to assemble. Not exactly the same as the photo on the internet which shows a pulley cord. The lamp I received didn't have this. The only means of turning on and off are on a floor switch. Wanted to place lamp behind sofa which does make if difficult to turn on and off. Otherwise I'm really pleased. I did telephone customer service who said they would change the photo on line. Haven't checked to see if they have done this.

Very pleased with my half moon floor lamp, which was purchased to give a soft background light in an entrance hall. The lamp is solidly made, of good quality and with a modern look. It essentially works as an up-lighter so is fine in the above setting. But being a half moon shape, it doesn’t give direct downward light. It is also easy to assemble.

I reviewed on the internet as this was not available to view in stores. Not disappointed when assembled Very easy to assemble and welled packed for transport.
