Preheat the oven to 175°C/150°C fan/gas mark 3. Line a 20x20cm baking tray with parchment paper.

Add the dates (6) to a pan along with 2 tsp water and heat for 3-4 minutes, mashing with a wooden spoon. Stir in the butter (75 g), syrup (3 tbsp), chopped apples (2), pear (1) and cinnamon (1 tsp) and cook until the butter has melted and the fruit has softened a little.

Take off the heat, and mash in the banana (2). Stir in the oats (250 g) and raisins (100 g). Press the mixture into the prepared tin. Bake for 55 minutes, until golden.

Allow to cool then remove from the tin and cut into 12 squares.
