START
WITH A SET

You can use any type of baby clothes for the bouquet, from socks and sleepsuits to bibs. It’s a good idea to include a range of colours and textures to keep the bouquet looking bright and fresh. The M&S newborn starter sets are ideal for this

GET FOLDING

Begin by folding each item onto itself to create a narrow strip of material. They don't all need to be the same size, but the straighter your strip is, the easier the next step will be

KEEP ROLLING

Next, roll the item around a 'stem'. I used a flower stick but you can use lolly sticks or barbecue skewers. Carefully roll the material around the top of the stick to create a flower shape

SECURE
THE STEM

Use an elastic band to secure the flower in place by wrapping it around the fabric about half-way down

ADDED EXTRAS

Add some foliage or little flowers (both real and fake blooms would work) to make your fabric flower look more realistic. Simply pop the decorations under the elastic band

FINISHING TOUCHES

Use green florist's tape or coloured masking tape to secure the base of each flower. Starting at the elastic band, wind the tape around and down onto the stem

BEAUTIFUL BLOOMS

Repeat the same process for the other baby clothes you want to use. I like the effect when you use a range of styles, from little socks to larger bodysuits as it gives the bouquet some variety

WRAP IT UP

Once you’re happy with the amount of flowers you’ve made, tie your whole bouquet together and wrap with tissue paper. You could also display your bouquet in a vase or a flowerpot if you’d prefer. Use florist's foam instead of water to protect the clothing
