This light is suitable for use outside, but the mains adaptor needs to be inside or in a weatherproof outdoor socket. The outdoor socket should have a cover and a rubber seam to keep out moisture and be rated IP44. If you do no have an outdoor socket you can feed the cable into a garage, outbuilding, shed, or through a window.

This is a great item, very reasonably priced. They are quite bright, for warm white, but having read a Review saying stating that, was part of the reason I decided to purchase them. Look great hanging up but they take LOTS of patience to unravel and hang up. I took all the wire ties off, it maybe would have been better to leave them on until they were hung up. There is no picture description on the instructions, so it would be easier to have the photo order description to hand. I also love the fact that you can have them on different settings. Absolutely love them and they will be staying up after Christmas.

Extremely harsh bright white and not the warm white that is described. It took 30 mins to de-tangle the cables and then very disappointed when switched on. Will be returning

It is misleading to describe these as warm white. I ordered them on the basis of this but they are bright cool white and have no warmth to them. They are being returned.
