Oak Carving Board

First this is an oval board not round, as in the illustration. It's a large, heavy oak board which I would recommend is oiled before use. I didn't do this and it became marked after the first use and rinse. I have now oiled it with groundnut oil and will give it a second coat before I use it again. The stainless steel ring for fixing the joint has VERY sharp spikes (which are protected with rubbers) so be careful when handling. It needs to be stood on a rubber mat or something to stop it sliding around. I would expect this board to last for many years and am looking forward to carving the turkey on it at Christmas.
