Poor performance

Contrary to what the manufacturer's blurb says, it is very difficult to consistently make perfect poached eggs with this poacher. It sets the top of the egg well before the bottom is cooked. You have to overcook the eggs to ensure that the bottom isn't runny. It is also very difficult to get the level of heat correct. On gas you need a precise level and time (I use a timer). On induction it doesn't work on the 'flex' side of my hob; on the normal side it needs the level set to 8 out of 9 on a 3.6KW element to work. The cups are not 'non-stick', they are a relatively thick plastic which doesn't seem to conduct the heat very well (hence bottom is not cooked) and egg sticks to them. This is a shame because the poacher looks nice. Better cups (maybe aluminium) and a thicker steel bottom could make it a reasonably good one.

I can’t get consistent results

I am unable to get well poached eggs with this pan, however much I vary the timing on a medium simmer - the yolks cook nicely but the whites remain uncooked on the inside. I have tried leaving them for well over 5 minutes but still whites are runny. If I leave them for longer the yolks become hard. It is very hard to get the eggs out, too, as the handles are tiny. Will probably give up and go back to using a regular pan.

Had prestige pots and pans for a long time now and always find their quality to be superb for the price. These pans are no exception! Very good quality coating, comfortable and lightweight to use. The only thing that could make them better is if they came with some coasters to place between them to stop scratching during storage. I've had to buy my own. Overall very pleased and hope to be using these for years to come.
