The outdoor socket should have a cover and a rubber seam to keep out moisture and be rated IP44. If you do no have an outdoor socket you can feed the cable into a garage, outbuilding, shed, or through a window.

Beautiful coloured lights with multiple settings. Have these on our 4ft indoor tree and find it’s the perfect amount. They have 8 settings to choose from and controlled with a little remote I especially love the dimmer function, so much less distracting when sitting indoors.
