The Circulon Infinite pan (photo A) was supposed to replace an older pan (possibly excellence) that I have had for a number of years (See Photo B). The B pan has been excellent in every way and I have never put it in the dishwasher, used metal utensils or metal scouring pads. It has lasted exceedingly well and only recently started losing its non stick in the centre. Note the handle of the B pan has no holes in it apart from the hanging hole, the rim of the pan is flat(ish) and the handle rivets are flush with the inside of the pan. A flat rim allows me on some occasions to use a lid, even though Circulon don’t like this, the flush rivets allow a spatula to move around the inside with ease and the handle allowed a quicker clean up. This B pan I think is over 5 years old. Note that Circulon no longer make the B pan. As for the newer A pan, well its sides are curved so a lid doesn’t fit well, there are far too many holes in the handle and there are 2 big shiny irritating rivets on the inside of the pan which a spatula constantly hits. How can you go backwards on design and function. Is the pan still good? Well yes it’s a Circulon but it could be much much better. Why put the rivets on the inside? Why have a handle that requires more cleaning and drying? Who seriously thought this was design advancement?
