Set of 4 Wood Effect Placemats & Coasters

I ordered these as I have been looking for some wooden mats to replace some I’ve had for ages. The colour on the picture was perfect though when I was placing my order is said various colours but didn’t give an options. Because of this I presumed that they would be as shown though when I got them they were a darker wood not a light wood like my sonoma furniture so I had to return them.

I bought 2 sets of these mats. Out of the 8 placemats, 4 of them needed their rough edges sanding with fine sandpaper due to small splinters being a hazard. Once that had been done they seem fit for purpose but we will be careful to keep checking the edges. The undersides have a small black ‘rubber’ disk at each corner to raise it off table surface. Not sure how durable they will be as yet.

The placemats are very practical and look to be hard wearing. They are a little bit smaller than I thought they would be and it would have been nice to have them larger as our plates hang over the edge.

I only received one placemat, not four and no coasters. The one I got didn’t seem to be the best quality, not the best veneer I think.

Verneer started to split after three weeks of use , Returned to store, such a shame because I liked the set very much .

I bought this set at the start of May , was pleased with my choice at first, After using them for about three weeks I noticed that the Verneer was starting to split, I actually got a splinter in my finger, I returned these to store and was given a full refund. I suggested that M&S recall this product due to 5he verneer splitting I don’t think they are safe.

After recently purchasing another set from a different company and them being rubbish I decided too try these and I’m very happy with them. They look incredibly stylish and were a bargain with 20% off, highly recommend

These wood veneer (light oak) placemats look great in combination with fabric placemats and give additional protection to my oak table when used for hot serving dishes. The simple design would look equally good with a modern or traditional styled table setting. On our table they look good, do the job, and don't detract from the china and glass - at a good price too - I'm delighted! I

These placemats are stylish without being fussy, they are elegant with an easy clean finish.

Just bought two sets and there are a few issues already. Out of the box one mat is chipped on an edge. One mat has feet missing. One set of mats was bound together with sticky tape that has now left a sticky residue all over four mats. The warnings say "don't wash, don't put hot things on them" I thought that was what place mats were for! Overall, they are nice table decorations but not fit for purpose.

These mats are as exactly as described and good quality.

Lightweight and easy to use, perfect for the breakfast bar. Rubber feet mean they don’t slide about on granite. A good product. Only downside was chipping to the black paint on one mat.
