No, I don't recommend this
This grater is very sharp and I shredded some of my finger pads using it for the first time. It does grate well but I don't know if I feel brave enough to use it again. But also don't feel like I can pass it on to someone else if this is going to happen to them. I understand, now, why it comes with a shield for storage.

Bought this last week & used it once to grate parmesan cheese & almost grated 2 of my fingers in the process. Poor design - tried a number of different angles to make it safer but still ended up grating my nails.
