New Season Colours: How To Wear Brights

The future is bright
Bright colours offer a simple way to revitalise your wardrobe, bringing a modern, cheerful update to everyday pieces. Yet, for those who primarily wear black, embracing colour can feel intimidating at first.
Start small. This Ro&Zo floral dress, with pops of colour set against a darker background, will help ease yourself in. Or, try a T-shirt with a bright graphic print. Once you’re feeling more confident, you can graduate to bolder and brighter prints. Think about mixing colours too, such as green and blue as seen in this beach dress by Pour Moi.
Opt for accessories in neutral tones to balance a colourful outfit. Neutral kitten heel sandals, a black clutch and sculptural silver earrings provide a calming counterpoint.

Chase the rainbow
Wearing one colour from head to toe is an easy way to test the waters when it comes to adding vivid shades to your wardrobe.
For special occasions, such as weddings or a day at the races, you can’t go wrong with pink. Whether you choose a bubblegum pink dress or a darker magenta hue, stop it from looking too sugary sweet by teaming with metallic sling-back shoes or neutral pumps and accessories. Alternatively, go with Nobody's Child's green midi dress, teamed with bright accessories, such as this pink bag by Ted Baker, will really make you stand out of the wedding crowd.
Bright are also perfect for when holiday season hits. A simple jersey column dress gets a bold makeover in bright green and will look great with sunkissed skin, while a linen swing dress in saffron yellow takes you from beach to bar in a flash. We love this beach dress in vibrant tomato red: the colour and the halter-neck styling make it a summer winner.

Bags that demand attention
For the truly colour-phobic, going for colourful accessories is the easiest way to wear bold shades. While bright shoes, jewellery and even sunglasses add a pop of colour, a bag in shades of lime, red or blue should be your new season must-have.
A splash of colour from a bright bag makes neutral outfits pop. If you're ready to experiment, take it up a notch and pair a lime green bag with a lighter green blazer by Seasalt Cornwall, or create a striking contrast by carrying a red ruffle bag with a pink linen dress.
Don't be afraid to experiment with textures too. A straw bag in a vibrant hue adds a tactile element, while this LK Bennett woven red clutch brings a touch of modern polish.
