Summer grazing board ideas

You can't beat a picky bits dinner in the summer. After all, who wants to spend ages cooking when there's spontaneous post-work picnics in the park or al fresco dinners in the garden to be enjoyed?

Hit our deli section and create your dream summer grazing board with these ideas.

Spanish tapas night

Load up a tray with our 'Nduja King Prawn Skewers, new Salsa Verde Chickpeas, and Collection Extra Virgin Olive Oil Crisps topped with Ibérico ham (pimping your crisps is a trend we can get behind). Add a bowl of our new Spanish Fuet with Manchego for snacking and a chilled glass of sherry, along with some little bowls or shot glasses of our chilled Green Gazpacho (available in selected stores).

Mezze picky bits

Try our fragrant and aromatic new Grilled Turkish Domat Olives, which are charred for a subtly smoky flavour; alongside our sweet and juicy orange Sunburst Peppers and Mozzarella with Calabrian Chilli – find them all in store.

Plus, as the undisputed home of picky bits, we're officially declaring 27 June as National Picky Bits Day. It's a nationwide celebration of Britain's favourite way to graze. So there's no better time to head to our Foodhall to pick up an irresistible spread of just-landed deli bites.

How to make a grazing board

When it comes to assembling your perfect picky tea, there are no rules – except that you should choose foods you love which deliver on flavour without the fuss! Think buttery sausage rolls and cocktail sausages; creamy dips with crunchy crisps for dunking and vibrant salads. Lean into Mediterranean flavours with some antipasti (hello, Flame-seared Red and Yellow Peppers, cured meats, Roasted Red Pepper Tortilla and Serrano Ham Tapas Bites) or go traditional with a pork pie (don't miss our new mini Coronation Chicken Pies in store this summer) or a Ploughman's Pot with a crusty baguette. Go as complicated or as simple as you like – this is about taking the stress out of dinner. And don't forget the cocktail cans.

What are picky bits?

Whether you call it girl dinner, picky tea, party tea, or picky bits, we're talking about a delicious combination of easy-to-prepare ingredients you can put together easily. At M&S we're the only destination for flavour-packed picky bits you won't find anywhere else. Pop to the Foodhall to grab your faves, pile everything up onto a grazing board, or roll out the picnic rug and head to the park.
